Located in Santa Barbara County, California, United States, Solvang in Danish means "sunny field" with a population of more than 5,000 people. The village was built in 1911 by a group of Danish immigrants who wanted a warm place to avoid the bitter winters in Central America. But it was not until 1939 that Solvang attracted the attention of visitors after the visit of Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Ingrid. In 1947, this place became a tourist attraction attracting tourists from all over the world after an article was published in the Saturday Evening Post. (Image: Alexander Reitter / Shutterstock)

Many of the houses here are over 400 years old and are always preserved and cared to create a special beauty for Solvang. Especially, most of the houses here are used for business purposes, so it is not difficult for you to see Danisa restaurants, pastry shops, cafes, antique shops, souvenirs. ... If you don't feel like walking down the street, hop on an old-fashioned tram to stroll around the city. Or ride on magnificent gilded chariots pulled by big white horses or rent four-seater bicycles or electric skateboards for a round of Solvang tours. This beautiful town was once the scene of many famous Hollywood movies, including Sideways - which received four nominations and Oscar awards for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2004.
